Purple Fusion

I was surfing the net clicking on the buttons that catches my attention when I stopped at the Victoria’s Secret website. Clothes, shoes, accessories, bags and almost everything a woman should have in her closet were there. As I check the site, I noticed that o often see items that are in purple shade. From leather to metallic texture; from dress to bags to shoes – all in purple. And those bags and pumps were to die for. It’s really the “must-have” items for the season! And those products posted on the site were not just items from VS but also from other known designers like Besty Johnson, Guess by Marciano, BCBGIRLS, etc. Various dresses from sweater dress to casual to cocktail dress, purple shines. There is really a purple invasion and there should be one in every closet. And purple looks good to any skin color. You just have to find the right shade of pruple for your skin tone.

Handmade Handbags (from trash to cash)

My mother loves to sew dresses and every time she makes a dress or curtains or sheets, she can’t help to waste fabric from tailoring the dress. So what I did was I collected the unused fabrics to make handbags with personality. I add some beads and sequence, pearls and lace. When I was in high school, I make these bags just for fun and my classmates and friend loved my art pieces. And they always watch out for my new designs. So, normally, that’s how my life works then. Until one day, I came to school with a lime and pink tote bag that was adored by my classmate and the whole day she kept on looking it until she finally ask me if she could buy the bag because she can’t just borrow a bag that she think she can never return because she really loved the style and the colors. So, the next day, I brought the tote bag and sold it to her. And after that incident, every time I bring a new bag to school, someone asks to buy it until I decided to sell all my collection and I made lots of money because of the unused fabrics that my mom usually throws before. Now, I have a small store and I sell purse, tote bag, backpacks, clutch, etc. and I also accept custom made bags.

Evolution of Undies

Posted on July 8th, 2008 in Fashion, Fashion Tips, Underwear Fashion by admin

Nowadays, underwear had evolved from plain undies to small prints to embroidery and now, some statement to add style and “cuteness” to the look. Most of the brand of underwear has these childish designs that surprisingly look hot for an adult to wear. Before, the stylish type of undies to wear was the lace. Until it became thongs which I thought would lead to wearing nothing but what happened was exactly the opposite of what I thought. Those lacey and thongs are so oldies and boyleg and briefs are the new fab. Yeah I know. Briefs! Briefs but panties. A man’s stuff but now a woman has it too. It’s so ironic but people make these things happen and they love it. Actually I love it as well. Though I never wore a thong or lacey undies, I kinda like the concept of wearing my undies in a retro style.

See if man evolves from monkeys to human beings, so as the things they wear and even the underwear. No wonder in time boys are gonna wear panties as well and it will look fabulous.

Make your Blings

I was watching DIY show yesterday. The jewelry making show where they featured the DIY earrings made out of clay, and beaded wires made into earrings and pendant of a necklace. I was amazed how detailed they make each piece and surprisingly, I have tried it this morning and made a beautiful pair of earrings. It was not actually that hard especially if you love what you do and you have the purpose for doing the activity. After my first ever customized earring, I made another and another and another until I have already made 3 pairs of earrings, and a set of necklace and ring matched to the other earrings I made.

I used some wires and beads that I have and pliers and my inspiration. It took me almost the whole day to make different kinds of earrings. I made a loop earring, spirals, and beaded. My necklace was designed on a spiral matching one of the earrings I did and a ring with spirals and beads. It was great and I had a lot of fun doing it especially when my daughters arrived from school seeing their gifts from me, and my youngest Serene was so excited to go to school tomorrow and wear her new pair of earrings.
