Handmade Handbags (from trash to cash)

My mother loves to sew dresses and every time she makes a dress or curtains or sheets, she can’t help to waste fabric from tailoring the dress. So what I did was I collected the unused fabrics to make handbags with personality. I add some beads and sequence, pearls and lace. When I was in high school, I make these bags just for fun and my classmates and friend loved my art pieces. And they always watch out for my new designs. So, normally, that’s how my life works then. Until one day, I came to school with a lime and pink tote bag that was adored by my classmate and the whole day she kept on looking it until she finally ask me if she could buy the bag because she can’t just borrow a bag that she think she can never return because she really loved the style and the colors. So, the next day, I brought the tote bag and sold it to her. And after that incident, every time I bring a new bag to school, someone asks to buy it until I decided to sell all my collection and I made lots of money because of the unused fabrics that my mom usually throws before. Now, I have a small store and I sell purse, tote bag, backpacks, clutch, etc. and I also accept custom made bags.

Forgotten Shoes

Posted on August 22nd, 2008 in Shopping, Shoes, Footwear by admin

I am so in love with shoes. I got flats, sneakers, stilettos, pumps, boots, and all sorts of its kind. I am more particular with the designs and lesser attention to the comfort. I sometimes buy 2 pairs in a week whenever I see a beautiful work of art in the shoes, I will buy it. Some of the shoes that I bought haven’t been used at all and I don’t think I have an “over-used” shoes but I always have missing pair of a shoe. So last weekend, I finally, organized my closet. I even had another cabinet for my shoes alone because it’s too much clutter if I will have it in my closet with my clothes. After two days everything was almost done. No more clutters and missing pairs and there it hit me. I actually have a hundred pairs of shoes with about 20 of them were not yet used and others were just worn once or twice. And since it was too much and I don’t want to get rid any of them, I decided to use them all. So I made a schedule chart so I make sure that everything will be used.
